Who are we?
Sarah Meikle
Sarah is the Principal of Food + Drink New Zealand. She brings a wealth of experience working in the world of food, drinks, events + tourism to the table.

Sarah has more than 25 years of experience in both the food + tourism sectors at a national + international level. Sarah was the co-founder of Visa Wellington On a Plate, New Zealand’s largest culinary festival + she led the Wellington Culinary Events Trust for 16 years.
Sarah has extensive connections in the food sector in New Zealand including chefs, products, producers + commentators, as well as a growing network internationally. Sarah has previously worked for WellingtonNZ and Tourism New Zealand and has experience working in New Zealand, India, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Latin America, the UK and Europe.
She has spoken at various symposiums on the topic of food tourism and helping "tell New Zealand’s food story", including APEC Forums in Bangkok (2016) + Hanoi (2016), the Terroir Symposium in Toronto (2019) as well as many forums in New Zealand across the wider food, events, tourism + agribusiness sectors. She was an invited guest at the international food symposium, MAD, in Copenhagen in 2018.
Sarah is a Director of Palliser Estates Wines of Martinborough, Board Member of RotoruaNZ, Board Member of Good Bitches Baking, Board Member of the New Zealand Events Association, Founding Member of Women in Food + Drink New Zealand, Executive Member of Eat New Zealand + a member of the Institute of Directors.
